Kiin is a multi-brand platform (and a soon to be physical space) built to support and connect creatives at any stage. At its core, Kiin is about community but more than that, it's about resourceful creativity - doing the most with what we have. Kiin exists to make sure tools are accessible, opportunities are collaborative, and each creative experience is validating. All Kiin's initiatives are designed to grow with the people it serves and adapt to the needs of each community it is planted in.

None of that would be possible without each of Kiin's brands - Ned, SM/LE, Salvillage, ODAAT, NAAMIO, LHAF and COUP. They're what make KIIN real - so that's why I think they deserve to be introduced a little differently. Click on any of the icons below to understand what Kiin is trying to do and why:

Salvillage (salvage + village) began with a simple but uncomfortable realization: I create more waste than I’m willing to account for. When I was developing other creative projects, I accumulated a lot of scrap paper, dyed water, and reclaimed wood from dismantled furniture/pallets. I never really saw them as trash even though I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it all— I just knew it had to be something that reflected how important it is to approach waste resourcefully and to design intentionally.

The challenge wasn’t just repurposing, it was designing in a way that honored the materials, kept me accountable and transformed overlooked resources into solid, emotionally considered products. So I designed the WOULD (We Only Use the Less Desirable) Stool, Seat Four, Pulp + Place and the Art Board using the materials I initially didn't think I had much use for. These designs will ensure Kiin is sustainable and intentionally collaborative.

Resouceful Design with Collaboration in mind.

PULP (Paper Under-Lines Points- in your progress, your process and your purpose) Made from hand-dyed, handmade paper, designed to hold 100 naturally adhesive pointed tabs. PLACE are creatively shaped book marks made fromtheleftover paper scraps from PULP.

The WOULD (We Only Use the Less Desireable) Stool is made from reclaimed pallet wood and fabric. It's assembly, as well as its design, is simple and is a physical representation of what it means to be resourceful with creativity in mind.

Seat Four is a set of four interchangeable cushioned stools. Constructed from plywood offcuts and repurposed textiles, the focus was on structural interlocking systems, stability when connected, and modular flexibility.

The Art Board is just that - a board on which to let creative ideas flow. It carries essential tools and all the paper you need for intentional sketching.

KIIN SPACES

Kiin’s foundations are resourceful creativity and authentic collaboration so that’s what each of its spaces are built on. Kiin’s commitment to providing support through creative development shows up in four different ways: making, connecting, collaborating and growing.

THE MAKING SPACE exists to provide the right tools. Memberships allow access to creative equipment, supplies, and materials. We sometimes find ourselves as creatives on the cusp of a breakthrough when we hit a financial shaped wall.

This wall often makes us say “if only I had _____” or “what if I didn’t have to____”. Kiin’s making space endeavors to fill in those gaps so our members won’t have to.

THE GROWING SPACE exists to provide guidance. Memberships allow access to classes, sessions and panels. Creative development shouldn’t be gatekept. The path should be open and flexible. It shouldn’t cost everything you have to be on it, nor should it exist without fairly acknowledging those who paved it.

Kiin’s growing space makes it possible for creative educators of every style and method to reach those willing to to develop their skills and minds.

THE CONNECTING SPACE exists to provide the right foundation. Building on the right professional relationships and opportunities can be the difference between creative validation and insecurity.

This space is about being given the right materials as much as it is about acknowledging what you already have. This isn’t a networking space to network - it’s a place wher members are given what they need to be recognized by the right people in a meaningful and honest way.

THE COLLABORATING SPACE exists to provide authentic, handmade design in two ways: through Ko-Llab and Kiinshop. Ko-Llab represents what it means to work directly with one of Kiin’s core brands (ned, Salvillage, NAAMIO, ODAAT) to produce something where multiple hands are involved.

Collaborating with Kiinshop looks a little different - it acts as a platform for independent brands, designers, artists and makers to uniquely support themselves in a way that respects their work as well as Kiin’s creative philosophy.
